target audience
my target audience is 15-24 year olds, this is the target audience I want to appeal to as I think teenager and young adult really need to understand this message and take it seriously, I also think this target audience would. be ablate understand the story the most. to make appeal to this audience will try to include some modern reference even though it is set in the victorian era.
my 3 ideas
idea 1 -
my first idea is a stop motion animation set in the Victorian ear, about an old vurnable homeless man living on the streets of London, he is based in a really dark alley, with only a street lights, lighting him. There is a montage of him living day by day, but everyday he is becoming for an more depressed as no one is helping him as rich Victorians keep walking past looking down at him in disgust,.he is beginning to lose all hope, till one day he fines a 5 pound note digged in the snow, he glims with happiness and realises all hope is not lost. The moral of the story is that don't lose hope cause one day when you least expect it a miracle might happen.
Characters\actors
The characters\ actors will be clay puppets made out of clay they will be made will armature or I will be able to animate them in the way I want to, also I will have a lot more freedom designing and making the characters from clay. In terms of voice actors I will look. into this on a later date, but may have to use family members due to recent corona outbreak. or may decide to do now verbal.
Location
I will be making a studio for the animation, I will be designing props and painting background so for this animation, I would be painting a gloomy dark alleyway and I would build 3d houses to put in the background, to give it a 3d illusion, smaller props will be made out of clay. I feel as though. I have a lot more. freedom by designing my own set.
idea 2 -
my second. idea is also stop motion animation it is about how old people are dealing with quarantine and having to self isolate, this would have a similar style to creature comfortate from Aardman, as I would be interviewing elders and then animating the clay figure to make it look as thought they are saying it and not the old people. I would interview about 5-6 people which could include couples and thought the animation go back and forward, i want this to be more of a comedy as people have been feeling so scared about the outbreak so I thought it would be good to make something still showing that its serious but having a lighthearted feeling to it and being able to make people smile.
characters/actors
The characters will be made out of clay, I want to make the characters look like the elders I am interviewing, by using clay I will be able to make the characters have a more comedic style to emphasising some of there feature like massive glass and a big nose. In terms of the voices it may be tricky to do as the coronavirus means self isolating but there are solutions around this such as calling.
`location
I would build multiple different scene\sets for this project. to represent different houses. this would be more time consuming then just making a single set. but it would look good with this animation. I would again give the set a 3d look so build like a table or chair, then small props eg mug or glasses cases would be made from clay.
idea 3 -
my final idea would be also a stop motion animation and also set in the victorian era, this story is similar to my first idea In terms of location dark alley in London, the message of the animation would be that don't judge a book by its cover. A rich victorian man is walking through the streets of London and walks past and elder homeless man who is homeless. The homeless man asks the man for money and he asks again. The rich victorian turns around, and asks him why he should give him money. As the homeless man reveals his story to the rich victorian he opens his heart to him and at the end of the story shakes the homeless man hand and thanks him for opening his heart and finally gives him a 5 pound bill. I want the moral of is story to be clear and be powerful so after people having fe watched they feel a sense of kindness and a knowable to judge a book by its cover.
characters/actors
The characters will be one again made from clay, there will be 2 different character in this as I want to kept it relatively simple, as the characters are different to make. The first character will be the homeless man he will look messy and his clothes. will be scrappy I will do feature research when design the character so I can make him look historically actuate. The second will be a very posh victorian man he will be dress in long coat and velvet and posh fabric again I will research this so it can be historically actuate. In terms of voices for the characters hopefully I will be able to use my peers but if the corona I will have to use family members.
location
the set for this would be actual the same as it was for idea one in that it would be a dark alley in London at night, with street lights. I would paint the background giving it a 3d look then I would make bigger models out of cardboard giving it that 3d look and finally smaller models would be made out of cardboard eg a glass bottle.
my final idea
I have gone with idea 3 as I really like the message it shows and I think that still in modern day society people still judge a book by its cover or judge other people due to the way they look or are represented which is what my story is about, I want people to walk away thinking before they judge something or someone on the way they look. I feel as though this animation could be powerful and be heartfelt I also think it will be taken serious as it such a strong message. Im exited to represent the characters in different way and telling this story though clay.
