Mise-en-scene
One of the settings in this is a church, I think a church was used was used to make the audience acknowledge that this film is Christian based and there is a lot of Christian refences with in the film and the scene. I think that a church show purity and holiness which is a contrast to whilst the scene is happening there is also murdering happening, as an audience member the contrast stand out to me. Various other locations are used through the murdering montage, to show that the new York mattha, affected the whole city not just one place. One of the setting is a massage room where a male is laying vulnerable as he is laying naked with only a towel over him, this make the audience realise that something bad may happen to this character. characters the main character is Michael ( The God-Father), he is an important character in this scene cause he is the leader a the mattha, but he is cover his alibi whilst his follower are out murdering people. There is a baby in this scene, it isn't stated the relation Michael has to this child, the baby is focused quite a lot. The victims are shown in this scene but only for a very short period of time. |
|
The is only one setting for this scene it is the sewer, I think that this location was chosen because it is the home of Pennywise and is where all the children get taken to after there killed , a sewer is a dirty and gross place, I think the director wanted to give of that impression to the audiences. Because the a sewer is very dark because it underground the whole scene is gloomy and dark, with a green light shining down onto the character. The gloominess goes with the genre of the film horror. Some of the character are also holding touches, that shines of a yellow/white light onto the character. I think the use of touch shows that the children are scared of the sewer and Pennywise, and use the light a safety object. Pennywise is the main character in this scene, he stands out the most as he is the tallest and is focused on by the camera lot, Pennywise hold fear over the kids which no other character does, I think this is the reason he's so significant to this scene. To most audience member Pennywise is the most terrifying character in this scene. Thought the scene we are able to see other traits to which the kids express about themselves. various camera shots are used thought the scene, to make. the scene more intresting and to exited the audience

storyboarding is very important because it clearly conveys how the story will go and it shows how the shots go together. Early on in the process, they are necessary to tell the story and communicate the concept.

this is the script I created from the short story we were given

Evaluation
After my video was created my peers evaluated my film after reading there responses and watching my video back I concluded that I had room for improvement but also there. were thing that did go well. There were a range of thing that my peers thought went well such as I used a blue hue in my video, this was the effect that I wanted my audience to see and enjoy. The blue hue was a connotation for sadness, this. worked well because it went with the. narrative of the film. In the film I thought as though it would. be a good idea. to use a. song within my piece I choose the song " Jealous" by Labrith, this. song is about losing. a. loved one, so it worked well. with the narrative of the. film a breakup, losing someone you loved. My peers were able to. reckonise thing I decided I wanted and also. thought it. went well with the narrative of my movie. Early on. in the process of my film I decided that I wanted this song to be played on a piano., personally I think a piano can show sadness and meaningfulness, it is a graceful instrument. this was something that I was sure I wanted to use in film. and it payed of as my audience enjoy it and made them feel emotional. After reading my peer responses it was revealed that they enjoyed the. lighting that was used in the piece, they thought. it. was. effective. Im proud of how it turned. out and works with the narrative the blue hue that was created by the light shining against the piano. After read the responses it was revealed that audience liked the way the. narrative built up this. was intensional as I wanted my audience to kept my audiences attention I feel as though this happened, at the. start of the video it starts slow. but as. the piano playing keeps going the tension builds up, this entertains the audience. I think that the narrative of my movie was clear and. easy. to understand, I think its important to have a clear narrative otherwise it can be. hard for the audience to understand. however I feel. that I achieved a clear narrative well. My audience thought that I had a. good. locations for my film, I wanted the. piano to be isolated in a big room to show the. importance of it, but to also. show how the character is feeling. I think my. intension was. understood well by my audience and they understood. what I was trying to convey.
Aside from the things that went. well. there was also a lot that didn't after reading the. responses. from my audience I concluded that the music in. the video wasn't consistent as at the beginning of each scene the. music start from. the start, my audience didn't like this and thought that. it. made. my. sound poor, I agree and it wasn't the the way I wanted it to be. In some places of my movie my audience thought that in some places the it was visually poor. At the beginning. of the film my. film was shaky and not smooth, in some shoots I also believe that. that it my have looked visually poor. I didn't want it to look like this. near the beginning of my video my audience. notice that there was talking in the background this made the video look poor and unprofessional this is definaitly something I need to look out for when editing. my audience thought that so of the ways I cut my video didn't look right and happened to fast this can make the audience lose there attention if they are focusing on a scene but then suddenly goes. my audience think that I should have used a bigger range of lighting only having the same monosyllabic colour can bore the audience and make them lose attention. I used natural lighting and a big white light that created a blue hue when it hit the piano. After rewatching my video I realised that some of my video overlapped with each other this wasn't the effect I want to portray I feel it made my film look unprofessional.

Strawberry Fields Forever
In the music video "strawberry fields forever" by The Beatles, the video is psychedelic, this theme goes with The Beatles ofter videos. to. The. video starts of in the. day time the weather is gloomy and the sun is slowly approaching through the cloud, I think this shows that because The Beatles are coming and appearing, the sun is coming out this could be link to "here comes. the sun" The Beatles. A piano is standing alone in a. field next to a big tree, strings from the piano are tied to the tree. Shining through the tree is a big red LAD light which is shining against the strings. The whole video is psychedelic I think that The Beatles wanted this to be intentional as when strawberry fields came out their music was psychedelic, they have shown this through there lights and the mise - on- scene. gradually in the video the it naturally gets darker, because The Beatles are wearing vibrantly coloured clothes it is very easy to see them beside the fact that the lighting in minimal. A blue hue is shining against their faces as some of the other Beatles are hidden from the shine. Finally in the video it is pitch black and and 4 more LED lights are brought in all the lights, in some shot we are able to see that there are different coloured free standing lights placed at different distances also shining onto the piano. The other lights that hanging are also shining on the piano, I think this creates a cool look and fits in with The Beatles psychedelic theme. Later on in the video a strong yellow cover is put over the leans this creates a drug, psychedelic. look, I thought that this worked well and made the video intresting and experimental. As The Beatles are walking away a bright light is shined onto their faces but not seen, in the background you are also to see the sunset which is giving off a yellow, pinky tone. I think that The Beatles wanted it to be evident that it is set over the time span of a day, I think The Beatles wanted to do this to show the audience that they are setting the lights that are shining down on the piano, not only are they setting up the lights they are also tuning there piano. In the video verious camera shots are used, they have. decided to have extreme close up of The Beatles faces, I think this was done to show honestly and that they have nothing to hide, these shot are gradually faded in through the video. In the video. The Beatles also using. side. profile shot and low and high shot, I think The Beatles wanted to do this to show that where ever you were action is happening and its colourful, I think there intension is that they want the audience to feel as though they are there, this shown though the camera work and using different shots. I also think that by using a. range of camera shot makes it interesting for the audience. In the video the clips are. faded in and out with each other. this makes the audience feel woozy this once again goes along with the psychedelic look The Beatles are trying to give.
Take on me - Weezer
This video is set in the 80s, so everything looks at though it is set back in the time period including the setting, costumes and lighting. The first shot is teenage boy bedroom, the lighting is musky and bright, the light from the window, lamp and doorway is shining through, the furniture in the room gives an old fashioned look, from the start the Weezer made this clear from the start, the camera does a wide shoot and then close up on different objects within the room such a walkman this tells audience about the character that he likes music, the. main boy the singer is dressed in 80s clothing dark, grey.
The singer than leaves his room and walks into the kitchen and a slice of pizza, pizza takeaway is stereotypically american. The lighting in the kitchen also is dark but the light from the window and door is shining through, the furniture in the house is colourful and the wall is wood this is emphasising the 80s the video then behind to get brighter, the camera followes Finn through the kitchen . And 3 other character appear in the video two other guitar players and a drummer, they are also dressed in 80s clothing, these character could be Finn friends. The camera then changes to a 80s video camera this give the video a new.
